Fapte bune în sânge

CONTEXT

The Good Deeds Laboratory (Laboratorul de Fapte Bune) is a PUROLITE Romania company initiative that aims to support, finance and promote civic initiatives and projects carried out by NGOs or institutions in Făgăraș County in the field of education, health, culture and environmental protection.

Purolite is a world leader in separation and extraction technologies based on ion exchange resins, with factories in the USA, Great Britain, China and Romania and five research and development centers. In Romania, the company has a production unit for active pharmaceutical substances, located in Victoria, Brașov County, with over 280 employees.

STRATEGY / CHALLENGE

Since the beginning, Purolite has been trying to increase the quality of life in the area, whether it was about the employees or the community itself.

Building trust among the citizens, bring them together through an act of kindness and involve the people in the community life.

IDEA 

Hosting the first blood donation campaign in the small city of Victoria, in collaboration with the Sfantu Gheorghe Transfusion Center at the city’s Social Settlement.

The blood donation campaign gathered over 70 people on Tuesday, May 14th, 2019, at the Social Settlement in the courtyard of the Church “Holy Emperors Constantine and Helen”, regardless of social status, profession or first-time donors. Of these, 52 were able to donate because they were medically fit, thus helping fellow sufferers on hospital beds.

The large number of donors, but also the organization of the action made the event a real success and hope was also restored that day for a lot of patients waiting for a blood transfusion.
